All right then, let us get to the match review of yesterday's match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kings XI Punjab.  The Sunrisers were back after a hammering blow that they got against Mumbai Indians and Kings XI Punjab were also back after a big insultation that they picked up against Kings XI Punjab.  Both of them were looking to overtake one another.  So the match was perfectly poised.  And at Dubai as I said, there is value for your shots.  Both team had really good batsmen and all we had to expect was a high scoring encounter.  So now, let us get to the toss.

1.  The Toss:

The Toss was won by Sunrisers Hyderabad and they chose to bat first on a superb batting wicket at Dubai.  Sunrisers made one change from their previous game.

They put back Siddharth Kaul and got in Khaleel Ahmed back.  And Kings XI Punjab made changes yet again.  Sarfaraz Khan was axed and Wicket Keeper batsman Prabhsimran Singh came into the team for his second appearance.  So now, let us get to the first innings.

2.  First Innings:

The first innings started in a bang as Warner and Bairstow were in no mood of losing their wicket.  Both of them were adding runs at ease.  In the first six overs, Warner and Bairstow shared 52 runs between them with 6 extras.

Then, Jonny Bairstow took over and started scoring at a very high pace.  And the Kings were also not disciplined in their bowling approach.  After 10 overs the score was 100.  Bairstow and Warner had no intentions of slowing down.  They once again started in superb pace and no timeouts were able to break this partnership.

I even thought that this pair would play all the 20 overs.  If they had they would've got the score over 240 or 250.  But that didn't happen.  Warner got out for 52.  And the score was 160 after 15 overs.  Then, Ravi Bishnoi became the spearhead for a small little colllapse.  Sunrisers lost 5 wickets for just 15 runs in the next 3 overs.  Then Williamson played a nice littile cameo to ensure that they do not slip away.  And Abishek Sharma joined him to get the score past 200.  It was a challenging total.  So let us find out whether KXIP could get over the line.

3.  Second Innings:

The Second Innings started and KXIP came into the field like they have already lost it.  Rahul didn't get going and he also ran Mayank Agarwal out.  Mayank was doing well, but he too perished due to lack of concentration.  Then,  Prabhsimran Singh didn't capitalize.  Then, Nicholas Pooran played an innings that kept them constantly in the game.  KL Rahul was pressurized so much as he too perished cheaply.  Then, all eyes were on the Maxwell-Pooran Combo.  Both of them were prolific hitters and both of them also had the potential to chase down 200+ totals.  But there was no luck for KXIP once again as Maxwell was run out due to a great piece of fielding from Priyam Garg.  The Sunrisers bowlers found it difficult to stop Pooran, who scored the fastest fifty of this year's IPL.  But he too gave up at a point and after Pooran, there was nothing left in the tank of Kings XI Punjab.

They only managed to score six runs after the wicket of Pooran.  As far as SRH are concerned their bowlers did an incredible job collectively.  Rashid Khan was the game changer and the pacers supported him by cleaning up the others.

Totally it was a clinical performance by SRH and I don't see any light on this KXIP punjab team.  As I said if Rahul steps up as a captain, then KXIP can make a comeback.  But that is far from reality.  Also luck has to be by your side.  Everytime around, they pick a good group of players, but fail to use them well.  And I fear that may be the case this season around.

Final Summary:

        SRH: 201/6 20 overs

        J.Bairstow: 97(55); D.Warner: 52(40)

        R.Bishnoi: 3/29

        KXIP: 132/10 16.5 Overs

        N.Pooran: 77(37); P.Singh: 11(8)

        R.Khan: 3/12 (4)

Man Of The Match: Jonny Bairstow.
