Welcome to another match review and today we are analysing the second match of the double header which was held between DC and KKR. If you have not seen the match review between RR and RCB then please click the link that follows. Match Review-Rajasthan Royals VS Royal Challengers Bangalore-Match No.15-Dream 11 IPL 2020. So now let us get to the match review.
1. The Toss:
As it is the entertaining Sharjah were the game is taking place, there wqs no shortage of entertainment. Dinesh Karthik won the toss and chose to bowl. He said due is the only factor which persuaded him to chase.
KKR made one change as they sent Kuldeep out and roped in Rahul Tripathi to add to the batting order. Delhi made two changes as injured Ashwin replaced Axar and Harshal Patel Replaced Ishant Sharma. Shreyas Iyer said that Harshal Patel had something to offer when it came to batting. So this will be very entertaining, and buckle up for the first innings.
2. First Innings:
Delhi Capitals started off in fire as Prithvi Shaw and Dhawan got the score up to 56 in 6 overs. After Dhawan got out, Iyer joined Prithvi Shaw and they got the score up over 100. As it was Sharjah, mishits saw it's way to the crowd. Iyer was set and was waiting to explode. And the time came after the wicket of Prithvi. Pant and Iyer joined for another 72 runs in which Pant was dissolving bowlers without any trace.
After Pant got out and Iyer was already over 60 at that time started to add to the runs. Stoinis got out cheaply and Hetmyer gave the finishing touch. What was worse is their 15 crore signing gave away 50 runs at very ease. Mavi, Chakravarthy were expensive, but Russel was the one who prevented DC from reaching 250. Russel ended up with figures of 2/29 off his 4 overs. Dinesh Karthik was deeply concerned about the target, but with the likes of Russel and Narine in a small ground like sharjah, nothing is impossible. So let us get to the second innings and witness the chase.
3. Second Innings:
Second innings though didn't start well for KKR as they lost Narine ver cheaply. Then, two young mavericks in the name of Gill and Rana, started to take on the bowlers. They kept the scoring rate constantly over 10. But experienced Mishra Ji was so delighted in bowling in that wicket. He took a wicket but what was important was that he gave less than 5 runs in his first over and picked up the wicket of Gill in his next over and broke the momentum of KKR. Then Russel and DK perished quickly and the scoring rate dropped heavily. Morgan came in and he was joined by Rana who perished quickly though. Then Cummins got out and everyone lost hope. But Morgan and Tripathi believed in their ability and started to take the game down to the wire.
From a point from where 100 was required from 6 overs they brought the game down to 30 required off two overs. But Anrich Nortje bowled an over from fantasy. He conceded less than 10 runs and took Morgan's wicket. Then, in the last over, more than 25 runs were required and the task looked unassailable. Then a decent last over from Stoinis secured the victory for DC. Who could've lost it when Morgan and Tripathi were on fire. Anyhow entertainment to it's level best. Okay guys I will come back with the match reviews for the double headers on Sunday.
