Welcome to another match review, and also my deepest apologies for failing to analyze the CSK match yesterday. However I'm here for the first one of the double header in super saturday, it is the Rajasthan Royals taking on Royal Challengers Bangalore. The winner of this match gets to the top the table. So now let's get to the toss.
1. The Toss:
The toss was won by Steve Smith of RR and he decided to bat first on a new track with a lot of grass on it. The toss was the only thing that went in the way of RR in this match. RCB were determined to get to the top as they looked pumped up.
RR were determined to register their first win outside Sharjah. So let us look what happened.
2. First Innings:
When RR came on to bat, nothing went in their way. They lost three quick wickets. RCB's choice of picking Isuru Udana against Dale Steyn once again paid off. Uthappa really showed that he is way past his prime. My personal suggestion is that Robbie should retire.
His strike rate has dropped really very drastically and his fitness levels as well. Mahipal Lomror showed some reliability but threw his wicket off. After that tewatia hit three super sixes and Archer along with him added up the runs to get the score over 150. The pitch looked as if it would slow up. But the RCB batsmen had the experience to slow the game down and win the game easily. So the second innings awaits us. Let us get to the second innings and see whether RCB can chase it to victory.
3. Second Innings:
RCB came with dashing Padikkal and experienced Finch. Finch perished early, but Padikkal went on to add to RR's nightmarish day. Kohli and Pabdikkal then built on a superb partnership.
But the partnership broke on 99. But the game was already over. Required rate was already very less. Then, AB De Villiers joined Kohli, and they slowly cruised through. Kohli superbly played to get to 72. With padikkal's 63, RCB really won the game with very much ease. The second innings was picture perfect for RCB but lacked entertainment for neutral fans. So now the second one is going on really well with Delhi scoring at a rate of 10 runs per over. This game will be a very entertaining one as it is held in Sharjah. So everyone await for the match review tomorrow. Now I am signing off with the match summary.
Final Summary:
RR: 154/6 20 Overs
M.Lomror: 47(39); R.Tewatia: 24(12)
Y.Chahal: 3/24 (4)
RCB: 158/2 19.1 Overs
