Match Review-Delhi Capitals Vs Chennai Super Kings-Match No.7-Dream 11 IPL 2020

Welcome to another match review, and today we are here to discuss about match no.7 held between the Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals.  Chennai Super Kings were back here having come from a humiliation at Sharjah.  And Delhi came after a great escape against KXIP.  So it was the time that both the teams had to prove themselves.  So let us get to the toss.

1.  The Toss:

The toss was won by M.S.Dhoni.  He followed the chase policy and lost it again.

Lungi Ngidi was dropped and Hazlewood was roped in to make his debut.  Delhi Capitals though, replaced injured Ashwin with Amit Mishra and Mohit Sharma with Avesh Khan.

2.  First Innings:

Delhi played with good character and Prithvi was the man who was leading the charge.  Dhawan played a supporting role which gave prithvi shaw the freedom to play aggressively.

CSK could neither got wickets and nor did they  obstruct the flow of Runs.  And after both Dhawan and Prithvi got out Pant and Iyer made steady runs and Pant gave the finishing touch.  DC were given lucky boundaries to take the score past 170.  Now the score at the end was 175/3.  Even when Delhi Capitals were batting the game was moving at snail's pace.  It was not the sort of an entertaining IPL match.  CSK had to chase 176 to get the second win in three games.  But a Faf Dependant CSK had no intentions to win a game.

3.  Second Innings:

CSK came on with only one intention to survive.  They had a poor powerplay and were never showing intentions to win a game.  They played like they were showing a silent tribute to the sudden demise of Mr.S.P.Balasubrahmanyam.  Once again Faf was the one who was getting the score up.  But Faf could not even get to a fifty.  Jadhav came in joined Faf and he played poorly, then was Mr. Thala who could not put bat on ball.

The match was very slow and even sleepy.  This is the most slow and boring IPL match ever.  As far as CSK are concerned a lot of work has to done especially in batting.  CSK are over dependant on Faf and Rayudu.  That should change.  So here js the final summary

Final Summary:

          DC: 175/3

          P.Shaw: 64(43); R.Pant:37(25)

          CSK: 131/7

           F.Du Plessis: 43(35); K.Jadhav:26(21)
