Match Review-Royal Challengers Bangalore Vs Chennai Super Kings- No.25-Dream 11 IPL 2020

Welcome to another match review and today we are reviewing the second match of the double header which was played between RCB and CSK.  First of all if you haven't read my match review for the other double header then, please click this link..  Match Review-Kolkata Knight Riders Vs Kings XI Punjab- No.24-Dream 11 IPL 2020 .

This match had the south rivalry written all over it.  In the last two seasons, CSK got the better of RCB.  And now it was King Kohli's time to pay it back.

RCB came here after they got axed against DC.  As far as CSK are concerned they were back from their loss against Dinesh Karthik's KKR.  Who won the first game of the double header.  So now let us get to the toss.

1.  The Toss:

Here is the toss, it is Dhoni vs Kohli, Former Indian Legend Vs Current Indian Legend, two good friends taking on each other.  And it was Virat who got the better of Dhoni and he chose to bat first.

RCB made two changes as they got in Gurkeerat Mann for Moeen Ali and Chris Morris for Mohammed Siraj.  CSK finally threw Kedar Jadhav out and got in a new player.  It was Narayan Jagadeesan.  Jagadeesan got picked by CSK in 2018, but didn't play a Single game since 2018 for CSK.  Finally the time had come.  He made his much awaited debut.  So let us get to the first innings.

2.  First Innings:

First innings started in a struggle.  Aaron Finch was Dismissed by Deepak Chahar in his first over.  Then, Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal built a very good stand.  But RCB struggled to get the Run Rate over 6 runs.  Devdutt Padikkal was scoring a run-a-ball 33.  When Padikkal got out, the score was mere 66 after 10 overs.  Then, De Villers departed quickly as Shardul Thakur bowled a superb delivery to get him out for a duck.  De Villers's struggles against CSK continued yet again.  Then, Washington Sundar joined Kohli.  But still the CSK bowlers were too strong, even Kohli couldn't break through.  Karn Sharma, Shardul Thakur and Sam Curran were too economical.  But it was only untill the 15th over.  Yes, the game took a very big turn in the next five overs.  Kohli really turned into Kohli version 2.0.

It was one type of a Kohli in the first 15 overs and in the last 5 overs, Kohli absolutely turned the game around in his own hands.  RCB scored more than 70 runs in the last 5 overs.  In Which, Kohli scored nearly 48 runs.  It was only because of the Kohli-Dube Partnership, that RCB got to 169.  And 169 at Dubai at a very slow pitch was very good.

3.  Second Innings:

In the Second innings, CSK started off badly as they lost their star-man, Du Plessis for 8 runs.  Then, Ambati Rayudu came in and was struggling to get bat on ball.  Washington Sundar had already sent Du Plessis back to the pavilion, and he came back again to send Watson back as well.  Sundar was the spearhead in the Powerplay for RCB.  Then, Jagadeesan and Rayudu were not even scoring at run-a-ball and were literally struggling.  But when we were seeing the score comparison, there was not a big difference between CSK and RCB.  RCB were rampant in the last 5 overs, and one batsman such as Kohli carried the innings through.  So the Key for CSK was keeping wickets at their hand and taking the game to the very end.  In the 15th over Jagadeesan, who was playing well at that time and was set to score big, ran himself out.  The Score was 89 at that point.  Exactly equal to what RCB were at that time.  Now, CSK just had to replicate what RCB did.  Rayudu was set.  He had faced over 35 balls at that time.  And by that time, he should have clearly read the pitch out.  But he threw his wicket and so did Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

Chris Morris was all over CSK.  He ran Jagadeesan out and he picked the wickets of the three all rounders in the CSK team.  Sam Curran, Jadeja, Bravo.  All of them were out to one man: That is Mr. Chris Morris.  Morris was picked at a very big price and he justified himself for that price.  Isuru Udana was perfect.  So, that is it, please get back here at 8.30 P.M Sharp, for my next match review for the first one of the two double headers.
