Match Review-Delhi Capitals Vs Rajasthan Royals- No.23-Dream 11 IPL 2020

Welcome to another match review and today we are reviewing the match held between Table toppers Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals, who were coming after a 3 match loss.  And the positive for Rajasthan was that they were back were they played their best cricket.  They were back at Sharjah.  And Delhi also won their last game in Sharjah.  So it was the best chance for them to get back on to winning ways.  So let us get to the toss.

1.  The Toss:

The toss was won by steve smith and he chose to bowl.  And on this sharjah wicket, he dared to chase again.  DC had no objections of defending a total.

Delhi came on unchanged and RR made two changes to their squad as Rajpoot and Tom Curran were replaced by Varun Aaron and Andrew Tye.  So let us get to the first innings.

2.  First Innings:

Delhi came on to bat and this Sharjah wicket surprised everyone.  Prithvi Shaw didn't get going and Dhawan fell out quickly as well.  Pant ran Iyer out and Stoinis ran pant out.  After the dismissals of pant and Iyer, Stoinis struggled to het going but was adding the runs.  Finally Hetmyer was the consolidating factor, his rapid 45 off 24 balls was the only best thing in their innings comprising off 184 runs.  They looked like they couldn't even afford a 160, but Hetmyer's innings saw them cross 170 and get to 180.  It was a very unlikely first innings score at Sharjah because the average 1st innings score at Sharjah 228 this season. I was very surprised at this wicket at Sharjah yesterday, it was not the conventional Sharjah wicket were it was entertainment guaranteed everytime.

But suddenly due to that tough wicket, Sharjah looked like Abu Dhabi.  But somehow they got to 180.  And RR had good records while chasing a total at Sharjah, so let us get to the second innings.

3.  Second Innings:

The Second innings started and lot was expected from buttler.  Buttler, but Buttler got out to his petty rival from last season, the man who got him out by mankading.  Yes, Ashwin got the better of Buttler once again.  Yashasvi Jaiswal was just swinging his bat all over the place.  Steve Smith did the same as well.  Ashwin showed RR who is the boss.  Smith disappointed everyone again, and then there was no resistance for tewatia.  Tewatia was getting runs, but not that prolificly.  Tewatia didn't have support and finally RR's dismal night ended after 19.4 overs.  Delhi were an absolute class act and they prove everyone again and again why they are strong contenders for the title.

I had put RR in the 2nd place in my predictions, but I'm kicking myself for that now.  I think they may end up at a 6 or 7.  So that is it for today.  It is a late review, but I hope you like it.  So here I ens it up with the final summary.

Final Summary:

          DC: 184/8 20 Overs

          S.Hetmyer: 45(24); M.Stoinis: 39(30)

          RR: 138/10 19.4 Overs

          R.Tewatia: 38(29); S.Smith:24(17)

Man Of The Match: R.Ashwin
