Welcome to another match preview and now, we are just analyzing the second match of the double headers that is held between Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings.
Delhi Capitals were off from a victory that they picked up against Rajsthan Royals and CSK were back from the boost they got after they won against SRH. CSK last played at Sharjah against RR and they lost that run-fest and they will play their next game against arch-rivals Mumbai Indians here at Sharjah. Delhi though have scored big scores here at Sharjah and they are one of the teams to defeat in this IPL. Delhi won their previous game against CSK at Dubai where they really outplayed CSK. CSK though looking to climb up the table and get some momentum to compete for the top 4 spot must have to clear this hurdle and their next hurdle against MI. So they would like to face their rivals with a positive note. So now let us get to the pitch report.
Pitch Report:
Pitch at Sharjah has surprised everyone in the last few games and it is looking as it is no longer a batting paradise. But the ground's dimensions, still make it a tough ground to defend totals. The key at Sharjah is to not lose more wickets and take the game to the last 5 overs. Because the Sharjah wicket has looked very strange and it has really worn out and slowed down a lot. This was expected from Sharjah. The Spinners can be the spearheads in today's game, with the pitch being slow, batsmen now have to wait a lot to find the middle of the bat. Good spinners can rule the match with their wrists. And I am glad that the team has good Spinners. But there is problem for DC as their two star players in the name of Rishabh Pant and captain Shreyas Iyer are expected to miss this game. But with the likes of good spinners like R.Ashwin and Axar Patel, they could really cause problems to CSK batsmen. And Imran Tahir is expected to play today's match, given that there would be no due and Sharjah being a good spin track. So now let us get to the players to watch out for in this game.
The Ones To Watch:
Shikhar Dhawan-Delhi Capitals
Gabbar Singh has been in stellar form recently and he has shut the mouth of all his haters. Shikhar will most likely lead the Delhi team today in Shreyas's abscence and he might do well, because his maturity caught everyone's eyes when he trumped RR with his tactics. Totally Shikhar should have a good game, given the slowness of the wicket and the dimensions.
R.Ashwin- Delhi Capitals
Ashwin is turning out to be a master with the ball in the powerplay as his economy has caught everyone's attention.
And Kings XI Punjab are now realising that they have made a huge mistake by selling Ashwin to Delhi. As I said, this pitch is a heaven for the Spinners and given his skills, he could extract a lot from the Sharjah wicket.
A.Nortje- Delhi Capitals
The Speedster from South Africa is really on the top of his game. He might have come as a replacement for Chris Woakes, but is looking way better than Woakes in the Shorter format. His blistering pace is really putting batsmen in discomfort. He took away the Man Of The Match award for his superb performance against RR last time around.
Sam Curran- Chennai Super Kings
Youngistan from England is at his peak and boy, what a performance last time around against SRH. He was given a new role of opening the innings and he did pretty well. He came to bowl and he did exceptionally well. And when CSK came here to Sharjah last time around, he was superb when others were massacred for runs. Once again he will be playing in a slow wicket, where his change of pace and reverse swinging skills might well help CSK's Causes
A.Rayudu- Chennai Super Kings
Here we come to the evergreen Ambati Rayudu. Rayudu is having a mixed IPL so far, but has finally found his groove as he has two 40+ scores to his name in the last two matches. And Rayudu will get better and better as the season progresses. He is so important to CSK's chances. If CSK aim a playoff spot, then, Rayudu has to come good.
D.Chahar- Chennai Super Kings
Dot Ball king Deepak Chahar is once again having a good IPL. But he still lacks that wicket taking ability which his undermining him. But his economy is one of the best in IPL cricket. His Economy is whopping for a Pacer. A Slow wicket at Sharjah might help him to take 2 or 3 wickets.

Ambati Rayudu: Ambati Rayudu needs 8 runs to complete 3500 IPL runs.
Kagiso Rabada: Rabada needs to take 1 more wicket to reach the 50 wicket mark in IPL Cricket.
M.S.Dhoni: M.S needs just 1 Dismissal to become the first wicket keeper to reach 150 dismissals in IPL Cricket.
