5 Very Easy Tips That You Need To Know To Improve Your Shooting Skills

Shooting is one of the key elements in football.  Taking an accurate and a legible shot is necessary to beat a goal keeper.  Some of the players might be making Shooting look an easy skill,  but shooting is the toughest skill, in fact shooting is an art.  One who masters it becomes a champion.  All of us might not be great shot takers in Football, but if you check this out, you might improve your shooting skills. Here are five tips to improve your Shooting skills.

1.  Have Rigid And Locked Ankle:

Having a rigid and locked ankle is a basic thing in your shooting attributes.  If you leave your ankle wobbling around the place you find it difficult to power your shots well.  If you have loose and wobbly ankle before taking a shot, you will roll the ball over to the goal keeper, which he would welcome all day.  So the key here is to have  a rigid ankle and smash the ball in the open faces of the net.

Also Before shooting a ball, make sure it is 2 or 3 feet away from your body.  Because if the ball is so close to your legs, then you might get cramped for space and hit the ball off target or hit it without any power on it.

2.  Do Not Lean Backwards While Shooting:

This Mechanism is about the approach to the ball.  You should not lean a lot backwards, which will make you unstable sometimes and will result in a less powered or a sky high shot.  So what you need to do is, lean over the ball.  By leaning over the ball you will be able to get more stability and feel a lot powerful while taking the shot.  You will be able to hit more flatter and faster shots if you lean over the ball.

So always never forget to lean over the ball.  Because leaning over gives more control for you while taking the shot.  Your placement will improve a lot if you lean over the ball.

3.  Hit At The Center:

Most of us have a big and major problem while shooting, that is the back spin.  The back spin arises while you slice the ball instead of hitting it.  Most of us hit the lower surfaces of the ball so the ball gets sliced and it acquires backspin.  So when your shot acquires more backspin, it’s speed gets reduced by a big amount and also there are chances that your ball might go over the top.  So What you have to do is, hit the dead center of the ball or slightly lower than center.

Yes That's Perfect.  Center Of The Ball.
What it does is it prevents you from slicing the ball which causes back spin which eats away all the power of your shot.  So concentrate and hit the ball at the center or lower center instead of hitting it in the bottom.

4.  Never Take Shots Of Poor Touches:

Some players make the big mistake of taking a shot for shooting sake.  They will take a poor touch and then try to hit it, what happens during that time, you place the ball over the bar or you hit it away of the goal.  So What you have to do is, you have to keep your composure and take a nice touch which rolls the ball away in a distance of 1 to 3 feet and then smash it in by following the previous tips.  Because the first touch is so important.

Wait, you might ask, then what should I do if I take a bad first touch?  The answer  is simple all you have to do is to find a teammate and pass it.  You may even assist him with his goal.  So keep in mind to never take shots of poor first touches.

5.  Practice Hard And Mainly Practice With The Game In Mind:

Practice is the best formula for success.  Never let your head down, take atleast a Shooting is one on goal daily.  Take your first 50 without Goal Keeper and then take the remaining with the keeper at the goal.   While Practicing, please do not practice  luxuriously, this means, taking time during your shots.  What I do while training alone, is set a target and roll the ball and then shoot it.  But that is not advisable while practicing for a match.  Visualize yourself as you are in a football pitch playing for your side.  Dribble through obstacles and play yourself to the speed of the game.

Practice With The Game In Mind, And You Can Take Shots From Any Positon.
Dribble through and take quick shots, like you are taking a shot in between defenders.  So the formula is simple, dribble through and take shots to the speed of the game.

Hope you like these tips, there is also an extra tip, if you have to take fiery and speedy shots all you have to do is to have an aggressive and fast run up, because a fast run up will yield more power and speed to your shooting leg and then powers the ball as well.
