UEFA Champions League Resumes- UCL Knockout Stage Predictions

Finally God has answered our prayers, as football returns completely, yes UEFA Champions League returns officialy on August 7th with the knockout stages on the cards we could see some breathtaking football action on the month of August.  As we know that the UEFA Champions League will be played in Portugal, with all the remaining fixtures to be played totally on Portugal as a single legged straight knockout tournament.  The Teams which had already played their first legs before lockdown will play their second legs on 7-8 August.

And the Quarterfinals will be held between 12-15 August and Semifinals in 18-19 August and the Big Final on 23rd of August.  So we will be getting UCL action for only 2 weeks but 2 weeks only of UCL action will  be a new experience for football fans.  So What does Sports curator do with this, we are going to predict the tournament and give out possible results, based on prediction only!

ROUND OF 16 2ND LEG:
As we know the round of 16 second legs will be played between 7th and 8th of August, with PSG, Atletico Madrid, Atalanta, RB Leipzig already through to the Last 8 we will have 4, 2nd legs remaining, that is of,

                                 JUVENTUS - OLYMPIQUE LYONNAIS  (0-1)
MAN CITY  - REAL MADRID (2-1)
                   BAYERN MUNICH  - CHELSEA (3-0)
                      FC BARCELONA  - NAPOLI  (1-1)

So now we come to the debate who will go through and who will perish.  So let's come to the first match, that is Juventus vs Olympique Lyonnais,  Juventus have been in nice form in SERIE A but they are failing to win crucial games, like they lost against Milan in SERIE A.

That Incredible Comeback No One Ever Expected...

But Juve will have an advantage because French Ligue 1 cancellation is on the cards so it is unlikely that Lyonnais will play any matches before the UEFA Champions League, so we might see a team suffering from lack of play time.  So Juventus will be the favourites to go through.  The next fixture might be one heck of a Second Leg, because Real Madrid have to turn down their 1 goal deficit and then score goals to win the fixture.  My opinion on this fixture is that Real Madrid have not lost a single game since La Liga's resumption and are well on song to win the League Title.  Captain Sergio Ramos is in a goal streak as he has scored in their last 4 games.

That Free Kick Show Us That Captain Ramos Is An All Rounder...

On the other hand Manchester City gave the Premier League title when they lost to Chelsea.  City's form has been doubtful as they risk of losing the second spot to chelsea, so in my opinion Real Madrid have a good chance of making it through to the next stage.

The Other two fixtures are as important like the first two, Bayern just have to play out 90 minuetes to go through unless Chelsea would make an unbeleiveable come back which is very unlikely.  The last game of the Round Of 16 will be a cracker for sure.  If this fixture was played before the Lockdown, then I would've definitely be on the side for Barcelona, because during that time Barcelona were imperious in La Liga and Napoli were Playing like a 11 of Lord Bendtners.  But after lockdown the scales have tipped the other way a bit.  Napoli being 5th in the table are playing really good football as they stunned Inter and Juventus to lift the Coppa Italia.

Gattuso And His Men Win One Of Many

Napoli are in a win streak and are playing with a lot of promise.  So a drawn first leg has given an advantage for Napoli.  My Prediction is that Napoli have one leg at the quarters. So here is how the results could be,

                                 JUVENTUS - LYON  (2-1, 2-0 IN THE 2ND LEG)
MAN CITY -  REAL MADRID  ( 3-3, 3-4 ON PENALTIES)
BAYERN MUNICH - CHELSEA  (4-2, 2-1 IN THE 2ND LEG)
FC BARCELONA - NAPOLI  (2-3, 1-2 IN THE 2ND LEG)

QUARTER FINALS:
Hmm, we have got through the Round of 16 and it is left to the last 8.  The Quarter Final fixtures will be held between 12th and 15th of August.  And this is how I would like the fixtures be and my prediction as well,

RB LEIPZIG - ATLETICO MADRID  (1-3)
                                    ATALANTA - PSG  (0-1)
                       BAYERN MUNICH - NAPOLI  (3-1)
                             REAL MADRID - JUVENTUS  (3-2)

This is my prediction about the quarter finals, with Atletico Madrid, PSG, Bayern, and Real Madrid going through.  The reason of ruling out Leipzig is due to the abscensce of Timo Werner who was holding up the team with his hand.

The Abscence of Werner could really haunt Leipzig

And Real Madrid deserves a better chance than the Old Lady because of Juventus's poor Defense, which could concede at any time of the match against any team.

SEMI - FINALS:
This is the most intense part of the champions league as four best teams in the tournament lock horns with each other.  The Semi finals are played between 18-19 of August.  As Real Madrid could take on Atletico Madrid in a heated Madrid Derby,  and Paris Saint Germain could take on Bayern Munich.

Paris and Munich could cancel out each other..

REAL MADRID - ATLETICO MADRID  (2-0)
BAYERN MUNICH - PSG  (2-2, 4-2 ON PENALTIES)

This is how I would like it end as Bayern and Real face off at Benfica's stadium at Lisbon.  I would think of a 2-2 draw for PSG and Bayern only becuase of Neymar and Mbappe's form before lockdownReal Madrid would easily go into the Finals by giving Atleti no chance.

FINAL:
The Final will be held at Estadio Do Sport Lisboa e Benfica, Lisbon.

T
The match will be an intensly fought one as Bayern will be looking for their treble and Real Madrid would be looking to add a 13th champions League Trophy in their Trophy Room on 23rd of august.

Real Madrid Could Go On To Win The Trophy At The Same Venue Once Again

With Both Teams Evenly Matched, there will be no room for errors.  Real's strong defence will be battling it out with Bayern's superb attacking trio.  So all We hope is for a cracking Final with Either one of the teams winning it.  But, if had to pick one, my choice would be the Hansi Flick's men from Munich.
