Can India Become A Footballing Super Power?-The RoadMap For India's Future In Football.

Yes India Could Become one of the best footballing nations in the world, or atleast Asia.  But some Real Hard work and revolutionary changes are needed.  What should be those changes?..

1.FAN SUPPORT:
Fan support is really very important to any nation's development in any sport.  As per India is concerned the children and people are just coming in to watch a game of football and play football, but still the whole nation is obsessed with cricket.  But during the last Indian Super League season the the attendance in the stadiums has increased significantly when comparred to the previous seasons.

But this would never be enough more people should come and watch the matches of ISL in the stadiums.  This would increase the funds of AIFF and the respective teams.  The stadiums are big enough to seat thousands of people, but most of the times stadiums attain only quarter part of the total capability, which means most of the stands are empty.  When the no.of People watching the matches increase then the no.of people who choose football as their career would also increase.

2.  IMPROVING DOMESTIC FOOTBALL:
The domestic football structure is very worse in India.  There are not a lot of leagues which are initiated by the AIFF.  AIFF should initiate the leagues based on state level and lower than that.  Some talent searching camps must be held whole year.  More and more tournaments must be held to extract more young talents who could prosper with good guidance.  The are hundreds of good talented footballers all over the country, but lack of guidance forces them to give up football.  How could AIFF conduct leagues?  Only when they get more income from ISL and I-League.
More Viewers More Income

Yes, AIFF could conduct more talent search camps and tournaments only with the help of the viewers, if the ISL extracts more viewers, AIFF could get more income and it would be easier for them to conduct leagues and tournaments to extract talent from all parts of India.  That is "More Viewers More Income"

3.ONE NATION ONE FIRST-DIVISON LEAGUE:

This is the most important factor that we are going to discuss here, because this factor is the one which determines the future of Indian football.  We are gonna discuss about the league system in India.  The league system in India is very poor.  Even the Indian Super League being the first divison league according to AFC it comprises only of 10 teams!  A first division league of a nation cannot have only 10 teams in it.  It should have a minimum of 16 teams, a 20 team league is very good.  If you look at the top footballing nations they would definitely have a 20 or a 18 team first division league.  How could India develop a 20 team league?  The answer is very simple, I-league merging with ISL.
ISL, I-league Merger On The Cards

Yes, it is the best and only way that India's football could be developed, when I-league merges with ISL it would solve a variety of problems that AIFF faces now.  If I-league merges with ISL, then ISL would become a 20 team league.  Sounds good. isn't it?  Yes it would be really good, a 20 team league would ensure more matches, firstly more matches would increase the income of AIFF.  And then more matches would increase the football season of the nation.
Besides income more matches would diversify and also intensify the league, derbies would be developed, which would raise the spirit of football in the nation.  Also a 20 team league will definitely improve the quality of the players.  How could it improve?  When players have more matches to play for their team in a season their quality and fitness and performance will surely improve, because if a player has to play more matches for his team, then he would have to be more consistent to stay in the team, to remain consistent he should be more fitter and more effective, so gradually a 20 team league would improve the quality of football played the Indian players.  If you still cannot get it, I will explain it easier, for ex., a 20 team league could improve the ratings of Indian players in FIFA games in the future(FIFA21,FIFA22,etc.,).

Very importantly if the Indian football season runs for a whole year with a 20 team league more and more young players would get chances to show what they've got, because over the years we could see a lot of youngsters always sitting in the benches of the teams and waiting for their chance, but unluckily they would never get a chance, because only 18 matches are played in the ISL.

4.  PROMOTION AND RELEGATION POLICY:

If we have a 20 team Indian Super League, then definitely the promotion relegation policy is must.  I-league should be made as the 2nd divison league of India, which would comprise teams like Dempo, Mumbai F.C and lot of other clubs.  Season by season the 2 top placed  teams  should be promoted from I-league and 2 bottom placed teams should be relegated from ISL, that is just like the top leagues of Europe, such as the LA LIGA, SERIE A, PREMIER LEAGUE and etc.,

A 20 team league has various benefits, one of them is that AFC could allot an extra slot for Indian clubs in the AFC CHAMPIONS LEAGUE AND AFC CUP.  So the 1st placed and 2nd placed team could get a direct entry into the CL and 3rd placed and 4th placed teams could get a direct entry into the AFC CUP and the 5th placed team could get a preliminary round slot. It would be fantastic if this happens.

Also the playoff system should be abolished and the league winners should be handed the trophy.  By this the quality of football would be more improved, because to win the league there would be only one choice for the clubs, that is to finish first.
Chennayin F.C Win The League During 17-18 Season Despite Finishing 4th in the League Stages

So games would be more interesting and the goal tally would seemingly increase.  If the playoff system continues to be in effect, then teams would reduce the amount of effort put by them.  That is in a playoff system the teams would be handed in a second choice, that is to finish in the top four and then compete for the finals.  There are lot of examples to prove this.

That is it.  If all these ideas are initiated then we would have India dominating Asia or even the Whole world in the near future that.  If all these efforts pay off then India could debut in a world cup in less than 10 years and a world cup in less than 20 years or may be less than that.  All India has to do is follow the top footballing nations and prosper.
A World Cup Spot Is Not UnTouchable..
If a nation that is  11 times smaller than India lift the world cup a 4 times(Italy), why cannot we?
All we have to do is persevere..
